Quick Guide to the KOA Program-Friendly Image Access Service
This page provides a quick introduction to the KOA program-friendly image access service. It differs from the main KOA interface in that archive queries can be performed within scripts, programs, or on the command line using wget or cURL. See the full program interface documentation for more help.
- This program interface discovers public imaging data acquired by those Keck instruments equipped with an imaging mode.

- Submit your query with wget or cURL
- The interface requires knowledge of the image footprint on the sky. For NIRC2, MOSFIRE and OSIRIS this information is encoded in WCS information recorded in the FITS file headers. For all other instruments, KOA estimates the footprint from its knowledge of instrument pointing and configuration. We encourage new users to understand the consequences of this approach for the data returned by a query.
- This service uses a common interface for all instruments, compliant with the Simple image Access protocol (v2) developed by the International Virtual Observatory Alliance (IVOA)
