Search Form Tabs:

The KOA Search Form shows 5 tabs or 6 tabs (when logged in) for navigating the search options.

Basic Search: Navigates to the Basic Search form where you can search by date or object name or location.

More Search Options: Navigates to the More Search Options form where you can search by all search parameters.

Moving Object Search: Navigates to the Moving Object Search form where you can search for moving objects.

Guider Search: Navigates to the Guider Search form where you can search by date or object name or location.

My Programs: This tab is available only to PIs who are logged in. When logged in, this tab navigates to the listing of all programs to which you have proprietary access. You can filter and sort on Program Title, Program ID, Observation Date, Public Release Date, Instrument, and Program PI.

My Programs Tab


Released Programs: Navigates to the listing of Released Programs. You can filter and sort on Program Title, Program ID, Observation Date, Instrument, and Program PI. Please be aware that observers will sometimes observe targets from one program during time assigned to another program. While KOA does its best to assign all data to the proper program, without the full cooperation of each observer it cannot be 100% accurate.

My Programs and Released Programs Columns:

Column Description
Program Title Searches across all instruments with an exact match on the program title
Program ID Searches across all instruments with an exact match on the program id
Observation Date (UT) Searches specific instrument, observation date, exact match on program id, and public engineering data.
Public Release Date Available from the My Programs tab. Date when data will be publicly available.
Instrument The results values are fixed to the name of the Instrument: DEIMOS, ESI, GUIDER, HIRES, KCWI, KPF, LRIS, LWS, MOSFIRE, NIRC, NIRC2, NIRES, NIRSPEC, OSIRIS.

FITS header keywords for instrument:
INSTRUME: DEIMOS, ESI, HIRES, KCWI, KPF, LRIS, LWS, MOSFIRE, NIRC, NIRC2, NIRES, NIRSPEC, OSIRIS

CURRINST: GUIDER
Program PI The last name (and sometimes the first initial) of the observing program's principal investigator.
